A global social media campaign has been launched to mark the World Population Day and Laos will be part of it with a Selfie contest for young people starting today. The aim of the competition is to hear young people's voices and allow them to express themselves through pictures and messages.

Although everyone is invited to join the campaign, the contest is only open to Lao nationals from 12 to 24 years old, residing in Laos. To participate the contestants should first answer the question: "Why is important to invest in Lao Youth?" and take a picture of themselves showing their answer in the most creative way possible, then post their selfies in the UNFPA Laos Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/UnfpaLaos) using the hashtag #WPD2014 and finally invite their friends to like the picture and join the contest.
