The outgoing Representative took the opportunity to express gratitude for the excellent partnership and commitment of the Government during the period of his assignment in Laos. He cited a number of results achieved through the assistance from UNFPA Lao PDR including support to Population and Housing Census 2015, to Skill Birth Attendance programme and to family planning programme.

H.E. Mr. Kommasith expressed his appreciation of UNFPA contributions under Dr. Mohtashami leadership. The assistance of UNFPA has strongly in line with the Government's priorities. The Government acknowledged a number of outstanding achievements with UNFPA support, contributing to improving the wellbeing of Lao people, in particular youth and women.
