UNFPA Office in Lao PDR is looking for a National Consultant (an illustrator) to produce 35 pictures of illustrations for lesson plans on comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) for lower education.
Duration of the work: From October to November 2018
Place of work: Vientiane, Lao PDR
Scope of work:
The consultant is expected to support the Country Office to:
- Design a creative pictures of illustration based on the contents in the lesson plan, ensuring that cultural and ethnic diversity is considered and the illustrations are appropriate for the target group (12-15 years old)
- Sketch illustrations and discuss with UNFPA and technical team of MoES
- Colour the illustrations after discussion and agreement by UNFPA and technical team of MoES
- Insert the illustrations into the CSE lesson plan
- Submit the final lesson plans with the inserted illustrations
- Submit the high quality print ready files of all illustrations to UNFPA
Deliverables:
- The first draft of sketched illustrations to be submitted to UNFPA and MoES by 20 October 2018 for discussion.
- The second draft of the colour illustrations to be submitted to UNFPA and MoES by 30 October 2018 for review.
- The final lesson plan with the inserted illustrations and high quality print ready files of all illustrations to be submitted by 20th November 2018.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated designing/drawing/illustration skills
- At least five years-experience in producing reading materials/ booklets/ IEC materials for development programmes
- Demonstrated experience in producing booklets/ similar IEC materials
- Excellent planning and organizational skills demonstrated through previous project management and IEC material development
- Having experience of working with UN agencies in Lao PDR is an asset.
- English skills (speaking and writing) would be an asset.
