UNFPA Office in Lao PDR is looking for a consultant for Developing Contents for “Noi Mobile App”

 

Duration of the work:            From mid-July to mid-October 2018

 

Place of work:                        Vientiane, Lao PDR

 

Scope of work:

The consultant will work closely with RH and Youth Teams of UNFPA and concerned officials from CIEH of MoH and will deliver the following outputs:

  • Collecting and compiling relevant materials on adolescent health issues available in UNFPA’s publications and documents including ASRH materials, CSE, YFHS guidelines, Nang Noi Girls Groups and other relevant publications from Ministry of Health, Lao Youth Union, Vientiane Youth Centre, Lao Women’s Union etc.
  • Reviewing the available material with the view to using it for the mobile App.
  • Adapt the existing contents and put it together in the agreed format in English for the App.
  • Develop needs based new contents in English for the Mobile App.
  • Submit the draft contents to UNFPA and CIEH for review and feedback.
  • Revise the contents based on the feedback from UNFPA and CIEH.
  • Attend meetings with UNFPA, CIEH, IT agency and creative designer/communication person on mobile App development as and when required. 
  • Translate the contents in Lao language.
  • Work together with the graphics designer/illustrator/technical person to make the content appropriate, attractive and interactive for using the content on the Mobile App.
  • Adjust and finalize the contents based on the field test and feedback from UNFPA, CIEH and other stakeholders. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least an undergraduate degree in medicine/ public health/ nursing/ social sciences or any other relevant subject.
  • At least five years demonstrated experience in producing contents for IEC/ communication/ awareness materials for development programmes.
  • Demonstrated skills in compilation, reviewing, and development of contents for IEC materials, electronic media etc
  • Familiarity to adolescent health issues in general and Lao contexts in particular; should be culturally sensitized,
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills demonstrated through previous project management and IEC contents/materials development
  • Experience of working with UN agencies in Lao PDR will be an asset
  • Previous experience of developing contents for Mobile App will be an asset
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English language (speaking and writing)
  • Knowledge of Lao language is an added advantage
