UNFPA Office in Lao PDR is looking for a consultant for Fistula Study in Lao PDR.

 

Duration of the work:            From mid March to April 2019

 

Place of work:                        Vientiane capital and field work in some provinces in Lao PDR

 

Scope of work:

The consultant is expected to support the Country Office to:

  • Conduct desk reviews based on documents provided as well as relevant documents from consultant’s experience
  • Conduct a field research
  • Develop inception report outlining literature reviewed, methodology of study, and proposed field work 
  • Share revised draft on agreed timeline

 Deliverables:

  • Literature Review and Field Plan (Inception report)                            
  • Final Report    

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Population and/or other related social science field
  • Demonstrated capacity for conducting formative research is required
  • Ten years professional experience in the field of SRH, development and/or population activities
  • Extensive experience of RH in South and South East Asia context
  • Experience in research and research methodologies in reproductive health areas
  • Extensive experience in reviewing and/or implementing Maternal, Newborn Child Health programmes in low-income settings
  • Extensive knowledge of up to date WHO/UNFPA guidelines and recommendations regarding RH morbidities, including fistula
  • Fluency in English is required, especially in writing
  • Working knowledge of Lao, however, if necessary consultant should procure an interpreter
