This year, UNFPA was joined by more than 70 partners and successfully mobilized over 600 people in person and reached over 650,000 online to mark the 16 Days of Activism with a strong focus on digital safety, youth engagement, and disability inclusion across Lao PDR. From school-based awareness sessions and theatre-based training to inclusive art, sports, and community dialogues, hundreds of young people actively participated in activities promoting respect, safety, and empowerment online and offline. The closing ceremony highlighted powerful voices from youth, LGBTIQ and disability advocates, reaffirming that safe digital spaces, accessible services, and meaningful participation are essential to ending technology-facilitated violence and ensuring that no one is left behind. UNFPA significantly expanded its engagement with persons with disabilities throughout the year, working closely with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, inclusive schools, Paralympic athletes, and community groups. Activities ranged from accessible sports events and art workshops to youth dialogues designed to amplify the voices, talents, and leadership of persons with disabilities. Over 200 participants with disability joined these activities, which promoted confidence, visibility, and equal participation while strengthening pathways to inclusive services. These efforts reaffirm UNFPA’s commitment to championing dignity, opportunity, and rights for all persons with disabilities in Lao PDR. Thank you to all our national and international partners for their support, in particular the government of Australia.
